What does EMIR mean?

In February, the European Parliament published the technical standards for the European Markets Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR).  The standards were published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 23 February 2013 and will enter into force on 15 March 2013.

By way of background, we have three Subject Groups:

  • The Market Infrastructures
    Subject Group
  • The Regulation
    Subject Group
  • The Standards
    Subject Group

Each Subject Group has developed specific frameworks to model the implications
of change from the European Market Infrastructures Regulation (EMIR), along
with other changes introduced by the FSA, European Commission, the Bank of
International Settlements (BIS) Basel Committee and more.

Our plenary meetings are open for anyone to attend at no charge. Following
these meetings, further subject group meetings will take place in April, with
the next planned plenary session to take place in June 2013.
