We have a meeting of the FSClub next Wednesday (7th October) where Bob Bayman will announce who he sees as being the coolest bank in the world.
The focus is on retail bank branches and, as many of us know, these are usually dull and boring transaction centres. However, many banks are thinking how much they would like them to be more like Apple stores. Big, bright and cool centres, where you connect with your banker in a relaxed way.
This concept is so far removed from the austere and off-putting places of the past that this transformation would be massive if it ever happened.
Well it is happening and Bob Bayman, a designer of cool banking and director with design agency i-am associates, will tell us how.
Bob used to be with Abbey and then went into a life of designing bank branches around Europe.
Now, he runs an annual survey of which banks have the best branch designs and makes an award for the ones that are viewed as meeting the best design criteria.
This year Bob has checked out banks across all continents, including Che Banca, Jyske, Barclays Piccadilly, HSBC London, Garanti-mini Istanbul and more.
Who has won the Cool Bank of the Year Award?
Come and find out.
If you wish to come please register.
