Back in September 2007, Ben Saunders opened our season of Financial Services Club meetings with a presentation entitled: "Achieving the Impossible".
Described as the next Ranulph Fiennes, Ben is a record-breaking long-distance skier with three North Pole expeditions under his belt and is known to be an inspiration for all.
Back then, our invitation said: "we're all worried about where the markets are going. Throw in American sub-prime, hedge fund crashes, stock market falls and bear markets and you're probably wondering: where's the good news?"
We thought we had some problems but, since then, the markets have been going through more turmoil than Britney Spears ... and so has Ben. With a failed fastest to the Pole mission, you would think he would be down too.
But he's not.
To inspire us once more, Ben is coming back to show us how impossible is nothing.
Find out all about his latest exploits and plans on 7th July.
Also, find out our range of good news announcements including new Directors of the FSClub, a new Branch of the Club, a new sponsor and an exciting agenda for our opening events of the 2009-2010 season. These include HSBC's innovations, the Government's view of the industry's future, the future for Scottish banks, why branches need retail revamps and more.
Finally, the really good news is that the food and drinks are on us at this meeting.
Yes, this one is free!
So come along and find out how to go beyond the impossible.
The meeting starts at 18:00 at Lloyd's of London, One Lime Street, London EC3M 7HA on 7th July.
