As the bidding process
comes to an end tomorrow, ABN AMRO should be announcing soon after the
successful bid by Royal Bank of Scotland, Fortis and Santander to
acquire them. I said that would make the last day of SIBOS interesting
a while ago,
and it's tough luck for Barclays who kicked off the process months ago,
but the credit crunch impact on their share price made their offer far
weaker.
My only question is do the ABN AMRO folks in a Scottish - Dutch merger become Scutch or Dottish?
